12/05 – present Founder. Cooqy,
Cooqy (www.cooqy.com) is a Web
2.0 eBay search engine with features like multiple animated views of eBay
items, integrated community tagging and chat, a Yahoo! map for plotting item
locations, magnifying tools for item photos, and custom bargain-hunting search
engines that eBay doesn't provide. Due
to the Web 2.0 technology the amount of data sent to the browser is up to 50x
less than eBay's own HTML website, making Cooqy the fastest way to surf eBay
auctions with dial-up. The technology
platform includes OpenLaszlo (XML & Javascript UI technology that generates
Flash and DHTML runtimes) and Java/JSP services in a Tomcat server integrating
with eBay’s XML
12/05 – 2/06 .
Using Agile
methodologies, defined enterprise web services across multiple web properties
using service-oriented architecture (SOA) patterns with .
11/03 – 11/05 Vice President, Software
Development & Operations. ActaView,
As the senior executive responsible for all aspects of ActaView’s technology, managed the software development of the core product, multiple concurrent client implementations using the core product, the Application Service Provider infrastructure, and office infrastructure.
ActaView’s
core product is a Business Intelligence / Performance Management platform for
developing business key indicators. A key
product component is a graphical dashboard with detail data drill-down for
business managers. The core web-based
product is developed with Java/JSP running on Tomcat with SQL Server and Oracle
databases, with C# and .
While leading client implementations, was responsible for successfully delivering 6 full-lifecycle client projects, with up to 3 simultaneous projects. Introduced structured methodologies into the fulfillment process. As client services manager, supervised the implementation team in the analysis, construction, and delivery of client solutions using the core product’s ETL architecture. Delivered client solutions included Revenue Cycle Management for hospitals, Financial analysis for a regional lumber distributor, and Labor management for a provider of time and attendance systems.
Architected
and constructed ActaView’s Application Service Provider web-based presence. Defined all aspects of the ASP operations,
including security, monitoring, and disaster recovery planning. Utilized ActaView’s own core product and C#/.

1/03 – 12/03 Founder. AuctionVision,
Conceived,
developed, and marketed an online auction Buyer’s tool built with C# and .
8/01 – 1/03 Director, Software
Development. MDVision,
Directed full-lifecycle development and delivery of a HIPAA-compliant PDA-based charge capture system for physicians. The software allowed physicians to enter patient billing charges into PDAs at the point of service and transmit the charges to backend billing systems for review, approval, and submission.
Conducted user interviews with physicians and billing clerks to capture user requirements. Developed and maintained detailed UML-based functional requirements specifications with use cases for three product versions.
Defined the overall product architecture and selected software tools.
Created low-level software designs, RDBMS designs, and User Interface designs. Worked with the lead GUI developer and customers on iterative User Interface designs, prototypes, and implementation.
Reviewed all project deliverables, including designs, code, test plans, and user manuals. Monitored all project deliverables against the functional requirements documentation and tracked all defects/variances to conclusion. Communicated project status to the development team, CEO, and investors.
Performed product installation and user training. Provided first-level customer support, via phone and on-site visits, to physicians and billing clerks.
Supervised 11 employees and managed relationships with 3 software vendors.
1/01 – 6/01 Founder. Aria Wireless Solutions,
Invented a
Utilized the developed technology for a proof-of-concept project for Vista IT in Dunwoody. Extended a Remedy order management system to wireless Blackberry PDAs, allowing work tickets to be received by field technicians.
Developed a
business plan and company website.
Attracted a senior-level technologist and marketed the business to

7/00 – 12/00 Senior Product Development
Manager. Veriprise
Wireless,
Developed and maintained detailed UML-based functional requirements specifications with use cases for two versions of the Veriprise Wireless Platform, an N-tier middleware platform that extended enterprise applications to wireless hand-held PDA devices.
Documented and defined platform requirements, utilizing input from the internal Marketing and Customer Service organizations. Created interdepartmental communication forums for members of the Customer Service and Platform teams to improve information flow.
Performed scheduling and metrics gathering for product releases using MS Project. Led functional review meetings, assigned tasks, and tracked tasks to completion. Coordinated product schedules with internal departments.
Managed the 30-member development team. Formulated development best practices, including C++/Java coding standards, design templates, code reviews, configuration management, and release cycle management. Led technical problem investigations to resolution and improved unit test efforts.
11/95 – 7/00 Development Manager. WebMD,
Led the full-lifecycle
development and production deployment of a high-volume N-tier ASP middleware platform
supporting a HIPAA-compliant Internet orders and results system for medical
labs. Developed C++
Managed the full SDLC of the highly scalable, highly available CORBA middleware built on Windows NT and ported to AIX & Solaris. The distributed N-tier middleware platform consisted of twenty individual component services, including a dedicated Security Service. Interfaced to multiple Lab customers through an HL7 Cloverleaf interface engine.
Supervised 7
engineers and provided technical management for offshore development in
10/93 - 11/95 Co-Founder. Synaptec, Inc.
As a second job, created and sold several C++ CORBA development tools.
